# Payouts

> How to transfer the available balance to the community's account, the R$ 3.67 payout fee, the most you can pay out, each request's status, how to cancel and what to do when it fails.

A **payout** moves the community's **Available for Payout** to the registered bank account. You decide when and how much.

## What it's for

Sales stay in the community's balance until you request a payout. That lets you choose the pace: once a month, to pay a single fee; or every week, if your cash flow needs it.

## How it works

### Before the first payout

The community needs **approved** [Business Information and payout account](/pagamentos/informacao-comercial). Without them, the request is refused: *"Complete Business Information first"* or *"Configure your Bank Account first"*.

### The payout fee

**R$ 3.67 per payout**, added to the amount requested and debited from the balance. It is per transfer, not per sale: if you pay out once a month, you pay R$ 3.67 that month.

### How much you can pay out

The balance has to cover the amount **and** the fee. So the maximum is the available amount minus R$ 3.67: *"Available: R$ 1,000.00. Maximum payout: R$ 996.33, since the balance also covers the fee."* The **Withdraw the maximum** button fills in that amount.

### Statuses

| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| **Pending** | Request recorded. It can still be canceled |
| **Processing** | The transfer is under way |
| **Completed** | The money has gone to your account |
| **Failed** | The transfer didn't happen (for example, invalid bank details). The amount goes back to the balance |
| **Canceled** | You canceled it before processing |

The request shows the transfer's **Estimated Date**.

### Canceling

A **Pending** payout can be canceled; the amount and the fee go back to the balance. Once the transfer has started, it can't.

### Who can

Request and cancel: **owner** and **admin**. **Finance** sees payouts and the history, but can't request them.

## Step by step: request a payout

*Role: owner or admin.*

1. Open **Monetization › Dashboard** and click **Request Payout**.
2. The **Request payout** dialog shows what is available and the maximum (*"The money goes to the payout account on file."*).
3. Under **How much you want to receive**, type the amount or click **Withdraw the maximum**.
4. Check the **Payout fee** (R$ 3.67) and what is **Taken from balance** (the amount plus the fee).
5. **Confirm payout**. You see *"Payout requested — R$ 100.00 is on its way to your account. Follow it in the Payments tab."*

The history lives under **Monetization › Payments › Payout history**, with each payout's date, status and amount.

## When to pay out

| Pace | Fees in the month | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Once a month | R$ 3.67 | Most communities: a single fee |
| Once a week | about R$ 15 | Those who need cash during the month |
| After each big sale | R$ 3.67 per payout | Events and launches |

Since the fee is per payout, letting the amount build up and paying out less often leaves more money in the community.

## What happens after the request

1. The amount and the fee leave **Available** and go into the statement as **Payout Requested** and **Payout fee**.
2. The request is **Pending**, then **Processing**, while the transfer is made to the approved account.
3. **Completed**: the money reaches the account, and the statement gets a **Payout Completed** line.
4. **Failed**: the amount goes back to the balance (*Payout Failed* in the statement), and you check the bank details before requesting again.

The money only goes to the account registered in the community, in the name of the approved account holder. Nobody on the Memberfy team requests a payout on your behalf.

## Examples with numbers

**A R$ 100 payout.** **R$ 103.67** leaves the balance (R$ 100.00 + R$ 3.67). R$ 100.00 arrives in the account.

**R$ 1,000 available, pay out everything.** The maximum is **R$ 996.33**; R$ 1,000.00 leaves the balance.

**A balance of R$ 3.00.** *"The available balance (R$ 3.00) does not cover the R$ 3.67 payout fee."*

**One month of a community with 100 Growth Monthly subscribers (R$ 129), all by PIX.** Sales: R$ 12,900. Platform fee: R$ 1,151. Available: R$ 11,749. One payout at the end of the month: R$ 11,745.33 in the account, R$ 3.67 in fees.

## Common errors and how to fix them

|---|---|
| *Enter an amount greater than zero.* | Type the amount |

| *Complete Business Information first* | Finish the [Business Information](/pagamentos/informacao-comercial) |
| *Configure your Bank Account first* | Register and get the account approved under **Payout Settings** |
| The payout ended up **Failed** | Check the bank details: account and branch with the right digits, in the name of the Business Information holder |
| The **Request Payout** button doesn't show | Your role is finance: ask an admin |
